The BAFTAs 2025 ceremony was a night to remember, with Conclave and The Brutalist taking home four awards each, including best picture and outstanding British film for Conclave, and best actor for The Brutalist star Adrien Brody. The event, which recognizes the year's best films and TV shows, was attended by Hollywood's brightest stars, who showed off their eye-catching red carpet looks. David Tennant returned to hosting duties for the second year in a row, bringing his signature humor and style to the stage.
The night was filled with memorable moments, including a performance by Take That, who sang their hit song "Greatest Day." Saoirse Ronan was spotted fangirling over the band, and even joked about seeing them twice in concert. Meanwhile, Kylie Jenner made a low-key appearance, sitting in the audience next to her boyfriend Timothée Chalamet. The ceremony also included a tribute to the sex worker community, with Mikey Madison paying respect to the women she worked with to perfect her performance in Anora.
The BAFTAs also honored British technical creatives, with Nathan Crowley and Lee Sandales winning the award for best production design for their work on Wicked. Paul Lambert was part of the team that won the BAFTA for best visual effects for their work on Dune: Part Two, which also won best sound. Warwick Davis was honored with the prestigious BAFTA fellowship award, dedicating the prize to his late wife Samantha. The event was attended by a range of stars, including Demi Moore, who looked stunning in a halter neck sequined McQueen gown, and Colman Domingo, who wore a cheerily OTT Versace ensemble.
The red carpet was filled with striking looks, including Ariana Grande's custom Louis Vuitton dress, which cleverly played with proportion. Camila Cabello resurrected the naked dress trend, wearing a blush pink corset overlaid with a gorgeously intricate diamante skirt. Gwendoline Christie opted for gothic glamour in a high-necked black gown with lace detailing at the shoulders and witchy deconstructed sleeves. The event was a celebration of British and international film, with a range of winners and nominees in attendance.
Some of the notable winners and nominees included Emilia Perez, which won the BAFTA for best film not in the English language, despite being surrounded by controversy in recent weeks. The film's director, Jacques Audiard, namechecked all his stars, including Karla Sofia Gascon, who was notably absent from the ceremony. Kneecap, a semi-autobiographical story starring a trio of rappers from Belfast, won the award for outstanding debut for a British filmmaker. The event was a highlight of awards season, with many of the winners and nominees going on to compete in other ceremonies, including the Academy Awards.
