The estate of OJ Simpson, the former NFL running back, is set to auction off several personal items, including a Bible given to him by his friend and lawyer Robert Kardashian. The Bible, which contains a personal note from Kardashian, is one of several items that will be sold at an auction scheduled to take place between March 12 and March 29. The note, dated June 18, 1994, reads: "OJ, this book will help. God loves you and he will speak to you with his words. Read this book every day. God has a definite plan for your life. You are His child and He will use you again. I love you and God loves you. - Robert."
Other items that will be included in the auction are photos of Simpson with politicians such as former President Bill Clinton and former Secretary of State Henry Kissinger, a painting of Simpson made by Andy Warhol, a signed poster of Simpson with the Heisman Trophy, and photos of him as an actor in major motion pictures like "The Naked Gun" and "The Cassandra Crossing". The auction is being run by Goldin Auctions LLC, and Simpson's children can object to the sales before February 26.
The auction of Simpson's personal items comes after his death last April at the age of 76. Simpson's story has been back in the news recently due to a Netflix docuseries about his murder trial, which was released in late January. The trial, which took place in 1995, was one of the most highly publicized in American history, and Simpson's acquittal sparked widespread controversy and debate.
The sale of Simpson's personal items, including the Bible with Kardashian's note, is likely to generate significant interest and attention. The Bible, in particular, is a unique and historic item that provides a glimpse into Simpson's personal life and relationships during a tumultuous period in his life. The auction will also include other items that reflect Simpson's career as a football player and actor, as well as his connections to prominent politicians and celebrities.
The auction is expected to attract a wide range of bidders, including collectors, historians, and fans of Simpson and the Kardashian family. The sale of these personal items will provide a unique opportunity for people to own a piece of history and to learn more about the life and career of one of America's most famous and infamous figures.
