Kate Hudson has expressed her desire for Scott Disick's cameo in the Netflix series Running Point to be longer, stating that it was a fun experience to work with him. The TV personality makes a surprise appearance in episode 7 of the series, during a scene where Hudson's character Isla Gordon is dealing with the demanding mom of one of her star players, resulting in her getting punched in the face and knocked out. Hudson tells PEOPLE that she and her castmates felt like they "could do a whole thing with Scott" and that there was "a lot of stuff happening" amid his cameo.
The cameo happened during a scene with Hudson, Drew Tarver as her brother Sandy, and Nicole Sullivan as Bonnie Bugg, the overbearing mom of Waves player Travis Bugg, who Isla briefly employed before things went south. After Isla found Bonnie filming a reality show about herself and asking to talk to Disick to get an introduction to Kris Jenner, Isla fired her and told her to go back to Florida, with Disick watching it all unfold from behind. Bonnie then punched Isla right in the face, knocking her out, and after she came to, Disick checked in on her by the bar and asked if she was okay. Hudson appreciated the opportunity to work with Disick and wished that his appearance was longer, saying "I want it to be longer. I’m glad he came through. It was so fun."
The 10-episode sitcom from Mindy Kaling, Ike Barinholtz, and David Stassen marks Hudson's first foray into TV, and she told PEOPLE why she was sold on the story so quickly. She was drawn to the fact that Running Point is "a much more full, honest portrayal of a woman's life than just the pursuit of love." Hudson also enjoyed the fact that the series is a comedy set in a high-stakes environment that is about family dynamics, saying "Look, don't get me wrong, I love a rom-com. I love when it's all about the relationships, but to do a comedy set in such a high-stakes environment that's about family dynamics — to me, that is just so much fun."
Justin Theroux, Brenda Song, Scott MacArthur, Jay Ellis, and Max Greenfield also star in the series. The show is now streaming on Netflix, and fans can catch Hudson and the rest of the cast in action. Some of the notable episodes and releases include:
- Episode 7, featuring Scott Disick's cameo
- Episode 1, introducing Hudson's character Isla Gordon
- Running Point, the 10-episode sitcom from Mindy Kaling, Ike Barinholtz, and David Stassen
In addition to Hudson's work on Running Point, she has also been open about her experiences working with her co-stars, including Brenda Song, who she has taken under her wing as a kind of "big sister." Song has spoken highly of Hudson, saying that she has given her valuable advice and support throughout the filming process. With its talented cast, witty writing, and relatable characters, Running Point is a must-watch for fans of comedy and drama alike.
