The 2025 Supercars Championship has kicked off in style, with Cam Waters taking a thrilling victory in the second race of the Sydney 500. Waters out-dragged Broc Feeney to the finish line by a mere 0.03 seconds, in a race that will be remembered as one of the greatest in Supercars history. The Ford star had earlier emerged from the final round of pitstops in fourth place, nine seconds behind Feeney, but used his fresher tyres to get past Chaz Mostert and Will Brown before setting off after Feeney.

The race was filled with action and controversy, with Waters and Feeney making contact on lap 49, sending Feeney into a spin. However, the stewards decided not to take any action, and Waters was able to slow down and let Feeney back past, before making his move on the final lap. The victory was Waters' second of the weekend, and it has given him a 37-point lead in the championship standings. Feeney and Brown completed the podium, with Brown just 0.1996s behind Waters at the finish.

The Supercars championship will continue on Sunday with the final race of the weekend, and it promises to be just as exciting as the first two. The top 10 drivers will return to the track for the Boost Mobile Top Ten Shootout, before the final 200km race of the weekend. Waters and Feeney will be looking to continue their strong form, while Brown will be hoping to bounce back from his narrow defeat. The racing will be intense, and the drivers will be pushing themselves to the limit in search of victory.
