The snowboarding community is in shock following the death of Australian athlete Luke "The Dingo" Trembath, who passed away at the age of 38. The news of his death was announced by Monster Energy, which produced Trembath's UNLEASHED podcast, on Friday, February 28. Trembath was a nationally recognized snowboarder at the age of 13 in Australia, after competing in the sport since he was 9 years old. He relocated to the United States at 14, living in Steamboat Springs, Colorado, and later in Mammoth Lakes, California. At 17, he turned professional and started a snowboard gloves brand, Grenade Gloves. Trembath also starred in the Fuel TV series "The Adventures of Danny and the Dingo" alongside two-time Olympic silver medalist Danny Kass.

The action sports community has come together to pay tribute to Trembath, with athletes such as Tony Hawk, Jaie Toohey, and Kurt Busch sharing their condolences. Some of the tributes include:
