Steph Curry reached yet another historic scoring milestone on Friday as his Golden State Warriors maintained their on-court improvement since the NBA’s trade deadline earlier this month. Curry scored 20 points in the Warriors’ 132-108 win over the Sacramento Kings, in doing so becoming the 21st player in NBA history – and first Golden State player – to score 20 or more points in 700 games. This achievement is a testament to Curry's enduring legacy in the NBA.

Moses Moody and Buddy Hield top-scored for the Warriors with 22 points, while second-year guard Brandin Podziemski added 21 points. The Warriors got off to a hot start in the second quarter and led by 20, with Curry reaching 20 points by going 7-for-13 on his field goal attempts, including hitting four three points and both of his two attempts from the free-throw line. The team's cohesive performance was on full display, with 40 assists on their 50 made field goals.

Friday’s victory continued Golden State’s improvement after the trade deadline and their blockbuster acquisition of Jimmy Butler from the Miami Heat. The Bay Area team has now gone 4-1 with Butler in the line-up – the 35-year-old had 17 points, seven assists and three rebounds in the win over the Kings – as they look to move up the Western Conference standings. The Warriors currently sit in ninth position in the conference, two-and-a-half games outside the playoff positions. The team's resilience will be crucial in their upcoming games.

The Warriors' upcoming schedule includes a game against the Dallas Mavericks on Sunday, while the Kings host the Hornets on Monday night. The Warriors will look to build on their momentum and maintain their position in the Western Conference. Here are the key stats from the game:

  • Warriors: 132 points, 50 made field goals, 40 assists
  • Kings: 108 points, 42 made field goals, 25 assists
  • Top scorers: Moses Moody (22 points), Buddy Hield (22 points), Brandin Podziemski (21 points)
The Warriors' performance was impressive, with a season-high 22 points from Moses Moody and a strong showing from their star trio of Draymond Green, Jimmy Butler, and Stephen Curry.

The Warriors will host the new-look Dallas Mavericks at Chase Center on Sunday, with an early start time of 12:30 p.m. Following the game, Andre Iguodala will get his number nine jersey retired. The team will look to continue their winning streak and make a push for the playoffs. With their current momentum and talent, the Warriors are a team to watch in the Western Conference.
