The search for missing person Luis Piovesana has intensified in Bristol, with over 100 police officers and staff, as well as many volunteers, involved in the efforts to locate him. Luis, 26, was last seen in the early hours of 28 February after leaving The Jam Jar in St Jude's, Bristol, at 02:55 GMT. He had called 999 from a taxi after leaving the club, reporting that he had been drugged, and was later captured on CCTV at Eastgate Retail Park. The investigation into his disappearance is ongoing, with police urging anyone with information to come forward.
Luis' family and friends have been searching for him, with his university friend, Tom Dunbavin, describing the experience as a "horrendous" weekend. Tom has been part of the search efforts, which have included developing a strategic plan to search for Luis, and has called on people in the area to be "extra vigilant" in keeping an eye out for him. Luis' sister has also shared a plea for help in finding her missing brother, and his judo Olympian sister, Lubjana Piovesana, has appealed for help on Facebook, stating that the next hours are critical in finding him.
Police have released new CCTV footage as part of the search, and have asked anyone with footage covering the period from 03:00 until 07:00 on Friday to send it to them. Detective Inspector Pete Walker has said that the police are "increasingly concerned" for Luis' welfare, and that it is "out of character" for him to be missing. Luis was last seen wearing black baggy jeans, cream-colored trainers, a black and grey Rapha gilet, and a black Rapha cap, and has a number of distinctive tattoos, including a cartoon-style tattoo of a man, a car, and a cherub on his arm.
The search efforts have included a thorough search of the area, with police and volunteers checking sheds, garages, and public toilets in case Luis tried to seek shelter from the cold. The police have also been using helicopters and search teams to try and locate Luis, and have asked anyone with information to contact them as soon as possible. Luis' family and friends are grateful for the support of the police and the community, and are urging anyone with information to come forward to help find him.
