Delhi's vehicle owners can settle any pending traffic violation fines on March 8th when the National Lok Adalat 2025 happens, providing an opportunity to waive or reduce fines. This comes after the Delhi Traffic Police collaborated with the Delhi District Courts to launch Special Evening Court Sessions to resolve such types of challans. The Lok Adalat is an alternative dispute redressal mechanism, where disputes or cases pending in a court of law or at pre-litigation stage can be settled or compromised amicably. This Lok Adalat will be organized across multiple courts in Delhi, including the Dwarka Court, Karkardooma Court, Patiala House Court, Rohini Court, Rouse Avenue Court, Saket Court, and Tis Hazari Court.

The challan must first be downloaded before March 8, which can be started from March 3, at 10 AM onwards, from the official Delhi Police website. However, only 60,000 challans/notices can be downloaded per day, with the link being deactivated after March 3, once the total limit of 1,80,000 challans/notices is reached. In case you are unable to attend the March 8 Lok Adalat, the next ones will come on May 10, September 13, and December 13, 2025. To participate in the Lok Adalat, vehicle owners need to follow a simple online process to download and pay their challans, which includes visiting the Delhi Traffic Police website, navigating to the challan section, selecting the appropriate option, entering the vehicle number or notice number, and clicking on “Search Details.”

Once the challan details are reviewed, the fine can be paid by choosing a preferred payment method, and a confirmation will be received via SMS. It is essential to note that a printout of the challan or notice is mandatory, and no printout facilities will be available at the court premises. Participants must visit the designated court mentioned in their challan at the given time. The Lok Adalat is a special forum designed to facilitate the settlement of legal and financial disputes, including traffic challans, allowing individuals to resolve pending matters amicably without lengthy court proceedings. The upcoming Lok Adalat will be held on March 8, 2025, from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm across multiple court complexes in Delhi, providing a unique opportunity for vehicle owners to settle their pending challans at a reduced settlement amount.
