The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has dismissed rumors about paper leaks for Class 10 and Class 12 board exams, calling them false and baseless. The board assured students, parents, and educators that strict security measures are in place to ensure a fair and transparent examination process. The CBSE board vehemently denounced the reports of paper leaks that were making the rounds on sites like Facebook, YouTube, and X (previously Twitter). These fake claims have reportedly misled students by falsely promising access to the 2025 exam question papers.

The public was reassured by the board that it had put in place comprehensive procedures to guarantee the tests, which began on February 15 and would run through April 4, 2025, would be conducted fairly and smoothly. CBSE has warned that legal action will be taken against individuals spreading fake news. The board is actively collaborating with law enforcement agencies to track down the responsible. Any student or individual found guilty of spreading false information will be punished under CBSE’s Unfair Means (UFM) regulations and may also face legal consequences under the Indian Penal Code (IPC). The security measures in place include CCTV monitoring, a strict dress code, and instructions to students, such as what is allowed inside the exam hall, which items are banned, rules for unfair means practices (UFM) and possible penalties.

As per CBSE rules, posting or sharing any exam-related content on social media is a serious offense. Students caught doing so may face strict punishment, including the cancellation of their current exam and exams for the next three years in all subjects. To prevent the spread of misinformation, CBSE has urged students, parents, and teachers to rely only on the official CBSE website. The board has also requested parents to help their children distinguish between verified and unverified information. The integrity of the examination process is of utmost importance, and the board will pursue legal action against anyone found responsible for spreading misinformation.

CBSE remains committed to conducting fair and secure board examinations. The board continues to implement strict anti-malpractice protocols and has reassured students that they can focus on their exams without distraction. Students are advised to avoid believing in false claims and to prepare with confidence. The board is conducting these exams amid tight security, with over 23 lakh students appearing for the first day. On the second day, February 17, Class 12 students appeared for the Physical Education paper and Class 10 students wrote Hindustani Music, Rai, Gurung, Tamang, Sherpa, Elements of Book Keeping & Accountancy, and Physical Activity Trainer papers.
