Mardi Gras, which falls on March 4 this year, is a holiday known for its vibrant parades, delicious food, and lively music. For example, Dodie's on the Harbor will have a Fat Tuesday celebration from 2 pm to close, featuring live music, free beads all day, and $3 drink specials. Ida Claire will have a mask-making station with New Orleans-inspired tunes, while Jack & Harry's will offer a menu with blue crab gumbo, oysters St. Claude, and prime, dry-aged steaks.
In San Antonio, the Mardi Gras celebrations will take place from February 28 to March 4, with various events and activities happening around the city. Elsewhere Garden Bar & Kitchen will have a Mardi Gras celebration with live entertainment, special menu items, and a new frozen Hurricane cocktail. Jazz, TX will host a New Orleans Night with classic New Orleans tunes, while Margaritaville will have a special buffet filled with Louisiana favorites. The San Antonio River Walk will also have a Mardi Gras Artisan Show, featuring over 40 artists displaying and selling handmade merchandise.
Other events in San Antonio include the Mardi Gras celebration at SeaWorld, which will feature live music, extravagant costumes, and Creole and Cajun food favorites. Six Flags Fiesta Texas will also have its ninth annual Mardi Gras Festival, with a Mardi Gras Parade: Spectacle of Color, interactive activities, and live performances.
