Koe Wetzel fans are in for a treat as the Texas rocker celebrates the 9th anniversary of his infamous arrest on February 28, 2016, with a brand new live album, Live from the Damn Near Normal Tour, and a massive block party at his Riot Room in Fort Worth, Texas. The live album features 13 tracks, including live recordings of his platinum-certified hits "High Road" and "Sweet Dreams," as well as his gold-certified song "Damn Near Normal" from his critically acclaimed album 9 Lives.
The album captures the raw, raucous energy of Wetzel's 2024 Damn Near Normal Tour, with live recordings from various venues, including Colonial Life Arena in Columbia, South Carolina, the Moody Center in Austin, Texas, and Dickies Arena in Fort Worth, Texas. To mark the occasion, Wetzel's Riot Room will host a block party complete with a Raising Cane's food truck, drink specials, and more. The event will also feature a performance by Wetzel himself, making it a must-attend for fans.
The origins of Koe Wetzel Day date back to the infamous night in 2016 when Wetzel was arrested for public intoxication in Stephenville, Texas, which inspired his hit song "February 28, 2016." The song has since become a fan favorite, with almost 100 million streams on Spotify alone and a gold certification from the RIAA. Although Wetzel has said he no longer relates to the song, he continues to celebrate the holiday with his fans, and this year's festivities promise to be bigger than ever.
As part of the celebration, Wetzel is offering 28% off his entire online store for 24 hours, including vinyl and a fresh merch drop. The live album is available digitally and can be pre-ordered as a 2 LP opaque white vinyl. With upcoming performances at SXSW and Stagecoach, as well as a summer tour with Hardy and Morgan Wallen, Wetzel is poised to continue his strong momentum into 2025. Fans can expect a high-energy performance at the block party, which will feature a setlist stacked with Wetzel's most popular tracks, including "Twister," "9 Lives (Black Cat)," and "April Showers."
