Thousands of concertgoers were left frustrated by the Canadian rapper’s act, with one fan saying the megastar had “one job”. Canadian rapper Drake’s Monday show started off on a frustrating note for some after a lengthy delay forced thousands of people to wait in a gigantic queue outside the Brisbane Entertainment Centre for hours. Posts on social media show swarms of people still stuck in massive lines just after 7pm. The reason for the delay has not been confirmed, though it is understood that Drake, his support acts and entourage arrived to the venue late, with the star reportedly refusing to allow concertgoers to enter the venue while he was soundchecking.

The delay was met with widespread criticism from fans, who took to social media to express their frustration. “Absolutely ridiculous, how can an artist be 2 HOURS late to his own show. It’s just disrespectful, he literally has one job …” another person wrote on social media. With a 9:50pm kick off, the rapper appeared on stage almost two hours later than scheduled. Fans were also left disheartened after a random ban on posters was also announced on Brisbane Entertainment Centre’s Facebook page earlier that day.

In Sydney and Melbourne, Drake was joined by PARTYNEXTDOOR as a special guest, though he did not appear in Perth. It remains unclear whether he will perform in Brisbane. The setlist for the Brisbane shows is likely to include hits such as “Hotline Bling”, “God’s Plan”, and “One Dance”. Drake will perform at the Brisbane Entertainment Centre on Monday February 24, Tuesday February 25 and Tuesday March 4. Seated tickets remain available for all three Brisbane shows, with prices ranging from $132.45 to $765.55, according to Ticketek.

High demand is expected in the lead-up to the concert dates, and fans are advised to secure tickets early. There are no official support acts for the Anita Max Win Tour, but DJs from New York and Houston, including DJ Spade, have been warming up crowds before Drake takes the stage. The tour is Drake’s first in Australia since 2017, when he brought the Boy Meets World tour to local arenas. Gates open at 5:30pm, with the warm-up act starting at 7:00pm and Drake expected on stage at 8:15pm. Driving and parking options are available, with parking at the venue costing $18 per visit, payable by card on entry.

Public transport options are also available, with Boondall Station being the nearest train station to the Brisbane Entertainment Centre. Additional train services will depart Boondall Station at 10:47pm, 11:17pm, 11:25pm, 11:47pm, and 12:17am. Official tour merchandise will be available at the venue, including merchandise such as T-shirts, hoodies, and caps. The external BEC grounds are closed and locked each night and re-open at 6am each day. Ticket holders are however welcome to queue at the turnstiles the day of the event. Some of the notable songs in the setlist include:

  • Over My Dead Body (Instrumental intro)
  • Passionfruit
  • Marvins Room
  • Teenage Fever
  • Feel No Ways
After completing the Brisbane leg of his run, Drake is due to return to Sydney on March 7 for the final Australian show at Qudos Bank Arena.
