The 30th annual Critics Choice Awards took place on February 7, 2025, at the Barker Hangar in Santa Monica, California. The ceremony, hosted by Chelsea Handler, honored the best in film and television. Anora won the top prize of Best Picture, while Wicked and Emilia Pérez each took home three awards.
Adrien Brody's The Brutalist won three awards at the 2025 Golden Globes, including honors for Brody's performance and filmmaker Brady Corbet's work as director. Demi Moore won Best Actress for her work in The Substance, adding to her Oscar momentum. The film's writer-director, Coralie Fargeat, won for Adapted Screenplay, and the pic also won for Hair and Makeup.
In the TV categories, Shōgun led the way with six nominations and won four awards, including Best Drama Series and Best Actor in a Drama Series for Hiroyuki Sanada. Hacks scored three wins, including Best Comedy Series and Best Actress in a Comedy Series for Jean Smart.
Other notable winners included Baby Reindeer, which won Best Limited Series, and The Penguin, which won Best Actor in a Limited Series or Movie Made for Television for Colin Farrell. Ali Wong: Single Lady won Best Comedy Special, and X-Men '97 won Best Animated Series.
The Critics Choice Awards aired live on E! and will be available to stream on Peacock. The ceremony was originally scheduled to take place on January 12, 2025, but was postponed due to the Los Angeles wildfires.
