1923 Season 2 Release Schedule and Cast Updates: A Yellowstone Prequel

The second season of 1923, the Yellowstone prequel series, has finally premiered on Paramount+, bringing back Harrison Ford, Helen Mirren, and Brandon Sklenar. The show picks up after the action-packed Season 1 cliffhanger, with the Duttons facing new challenges during Montana's Great Depression, including lawlessness, prohibition, and cattle theft. Ford and Mirren star as Jake and Cara Dutton, who are ancestors of Kevin Costner's John Dutton III. The season two synopsis reads, "A cruel winter brings new challenges and unfinished business to Jacob and Cara back at Dutton ranch. With harsh conditions and adversaries threatening to end the Dutton legacy, Spencer embarks on an arduous journey home, racing against time to save his family in Montana." Meanwhile, Alexandra sets off on her own harrowing trans-Atlantic journey to find Spencer and reclaim their love.

The returning cast for season two includes Julia Schlaepfer, Jerome Flynn, Darren Mann, Brian Geraghty, Aminah Nieves, Michelle Randolph, Sebastian Roché, and Timothy Dalton. Newcomers to the show include Jennifer Carpenter, Augustus Prew, and Janet Montgomery. Carpenter will play Mamie Fossett, a U.S. deputy marshall, while Prew will portray Paul, a bookish and well-dressed young British man on a passenger ship. Montgomery will appear as Hillary, a thoughtful woman who longs for justice.
